5. Electronically Submit Documents for an Alternative Compliance Pathway

Modified on Wed, 7 May at 1:21 PM

If your building qualifies for an alternative compliance pathway (see more details on compliance paths here), you may electronically submit your supporting documents to the City via the BESP Building Owner Portal by the October 31st deadline.

STEP 1 - Log into the BESP Building Owner Portal. If your building is required to tune-up during the current year, you will be prompted to submit your supporting documents after your benchmarking submission is complete. Click on 'Start Submission' to begin.

STEP 2 - You will be able to select from all of the different compliance options via a drop-down menu. Select the Alternative Compliance Pathway that you wish to take.

Once you have selected a Compliance Path, the Building Owner Portal will prompt you to upload your supporting document(s) in PDF format.

STEP 3 - Click the document 'Upload' button, select your supporting document file(s) (in .pdf format), and click "Open".

STEP 4 - Once your supporting document(s) have been uploaded to the platform, click "Submit"

If your documents are successfully uploaded, a blue banner will appear in the portal confirming that your Alternative Compliance Pathway submission is under review by the BESP team.

Once your submission has been reviewed and approved by our team, you will be notified by email.

For buildings that have opted for an Alternative Compliance Pathway, the building owner is responsible for ensuring that the supporting documentation is submitted electronically to the City through the Building Owner Portal by the October 31st. deadline.
