I don't have access to my tenant's energy data, what do I do?

Modified on Thu, 8 May at 6:27 PM

As a building owner or representative you are responsible to submit whole-building energy use data to the Madison BESP, including tenant spaces and common areas. Tenant authorization is required for the information to be released, so please allow for extra time.

Our resource on Whole-building Energy Data contains more information on obtaining energy data for buildings with multiple tenants, with guidance specific to Madison Gas & Electric (MG&E) and Alliant Energy customers (Help Desk Article).

If you are having difficulties obtaining tenant authorization or whole-building data, you may submit a request for a benchmarking extension. Your request must be received prior to June 30th in order to be processed. More information on how to request an extension can be found in our Help Desk Resource (Article: Extensions for benchmarking).

For more assistance you can contact the Help Desk by submitting a 'Help using Energy Star Portfolio Manager' ticket.
